Buying a woodland or forest through us

What is the process?

Buying a woodland is a simple process. It is very similar to buying any other type of property but is more straightforward because purchases are typically made in cash, are “chain free” and no surveys are required. The main steps are:

  • Go to view the woodland you are interested in, taking a set of the particulars with you. Please inform the local agent you are doing so.
  • Call the local agent to ask any questions you may have and to make an offer on the woodland. The agent will take instructions from the seller.
  • Once a sale is agreed, lawyers can be instructed to commence the conveyancing of the land. We can recommend solicitors/conveyancers who are experienced in dealing with the sale of woodlands if that is helpful.
  • The legal process usually takes between 4 and 6 weeks to complete, at which point you get the keys in the post!
