De Warenne Wood is a wonderful example of well mixed ancient woodland set far from any roads or any public access; this really is woodland that has it all.
As soon as you enter the wood, towering sycamore, oak, beech and ash surround you. A pleasant woodland bench sits in a central clearing, perfect for enjoying the impressive surroundings. The gentle River Stiffkey runs along the eastern boundary adding to the magic of the space and draws in an abundance of wildlife.
Set in the larger Forty Acre Wood, De Werenne is wonderfully secluded and private. The mature trees are well spaced throughout allowing lots of light to reach the numerous clearings, ideal for camping and woodland activities. Nearer to the river, wide glades of bluebells and wild garlic can be found. Other species include birch, hazel, holly and the lovely bird cherry.
Situated near Fakenham and Kettlestone, De Warenne is well placed, being just a short drive to the coast and the Norfolk AONB. To the south, Norwich is just 25 miles away.

Boundaries: To the north and south, the boundary meets neighbouring woodland and is marked with blue paint. The eastern boundary follows the river and looks out to open fields. The boundary the west follows the access track.
Access: There is excellent vehicle access all year round via a hard track which leads from a locked gate at the main entrance. Parking is possible inside the woodland itself.
