Although its a small wood it does have most things desirable in a woodland:
- it's south facing;
- has wonderful views to the North Downs in the distance;
- has lots of mature trees including ash, oak, beech, sycamore, birch with holly and hazel;
- set on a gently slope with glades and a small dell and is
- home to bluebells and interesting plants including the enchanting Butchers Broom.
Access: on foot from the carpark off Rabies Heath Lane, there is a vehicle track to the east leading to the Old Tilbuster Road and hill although there is no right of way for the full length of this track. Lower down the hill there is a bridleway which leads to the wood but again there are no rights for vehicles.
Boundaries: along the northern side there's a fence with concrete posts; to the west it's alongside the footpath running down the west side of the wood; to the east there is an old fence and at the bottom of the wood (southside) its inside the track.

The wood is about 1 mile south of Godstone in Surrey.

3. Use these directions
- From Godstone head south along B2236,
- fork right signed to Godstone Farm,
- pass the Farm on the left,
- take the next right turn into Rabies Heath Lane,
- look out for the carpark on the left,
- park here and take the footpath down the hill,
- the wood is on the left after passing through two posts across the path,
- this leads down to the track which runs along the entire length of the wood.
