Description Well away from the road up a private track Fox Brush Wood is secluded and provides the woodland owner with native woodland habitat and its associated wildlife. The wood and surrounding woodland is classified as semi-natural ancient woodland, which in this case means the land has all the wildflowers and soil type characteristic of ancient woodland even though sweet chestnut trees are dominant. Bluebells and wood anemone abound in spring. This is a good candidate for planting a wider range of broadleaved trees. Timber is plentiful too in the form of extensive sweet chestnut poles for the crafts person. Most of the chestnut planted here was for a historical resource - for fencing and hop poles etc, coppicing now will yield useful poles for woodland projects but will also rejuvinate the woodland flowers. Those not coppiced can be left to grown on into mature trees.
A small seasonal stream flows down through the wood, a great attraction especially for children. Included in the sale are the compost toilet and the firewood piles.
Covenant there is a covenant CLICK HERE on the wood to safeguard the quiet enjoyment of this and neighbouring woodlands.
