Goldeneye Wood is a beautifully open, peaceful woodland with lots of character. Winding pathways lead you in and around the wood to various clearings and points of interest.
Goldeneye Wood takes its name from its winter visitor, the goldeneye duck that seeks out large bodies of water such as the lakes adjacent to this woodland where they can stop and feed in this rich environment.
A lovely stream runs along the eastern boundary, ownership is along the centre of the stream. Although fenced off there is a small gate which gives access to the whole bank.
Oak, beech, birch, hazel, ash, willow and hawthorn and most notable in the spring the rhododendron with its vibrant mauve flowers can also be seen. Grasses and clearly marked pathways cover much of the woodland floor making it easy to navigate. There are numerous clearings for family camping and woodland activities.
The woodland is situated just a short drive from Hook and the local train station and also the M3 making it a great location for weekends being only an hour from London.

Access There is excellent access via a hard track (marked in blue on the map) leading directly to the wood. Access is possible all year round with any road vehicle. Parking is also possible inside the woodland itself.
