A lovely family woodland. Beyond the stately pines lies a hidden valley with mainly birch, and a small stream running through it from west to east. There are several natural pools along the stream, and some alder and willow on its edges. The far south east corner of the wood has a cleared area on the stream valley which could be very useful for camping.

The woodland is reached along an all-weather restricted byway, and then a stoned private woodland track. On the north east side of the wood is a cleared corridor for a minor power line, bringing lots of light into the wood.

Whistle Wood lies on the southern boundary of Limekiln and Park Woods an extensive area of evergreen woodland. To the south of the wood, are some great views over High Weald farmland. Deer are frequent visitors to this and the surrounding areas, as they are able to browse at ease in this secluded wood. Although Whistle wood is a very manageable size, it has the advantage of being part of a much larger wood, and is a good wood for family forestry.

Boundaries:   Are on two sides the edge of the tracks; there is a line orange topped posts to the west; at the south the eastern part is the centre of the stream and the western bit is a shallow bank just back from the stream.

Access:  From Boars Head Lane where there is a barrier at A there is a restricted byway to B thence there is a private right of way along B-C-D and E. Rights are for all purposes with vehicles. Maintenance is according to use made.

Viewing: You are welcome to visit this wood by yourself, but please ensure that you have a copy of these sales details with you - many of our woodlands do not have mobile phone reception or internet access so we recommend either printing the details or downloading them to your phone/tablet/laptop. Please take care when viewing as the great outdoors can contain unexpected hazards and woodlands are no exception

Please note, none of these woods are suitable for residential development, other uses such as private summer camping may well be suitable.

There is a covenant click here to read designed to ensure that all can have quiet and peaceful enjoyment of their woodland..
