Harleston Farm Wood is a lovely, peaceful and private space, some miles from the nearest main road. Perfect for nature lovers and those looking to escape. The woodland itself is set in a great location being only a few miles from the popular market town of Kingsbridge and a short drive from the South West Coast Path.
From the track along the top of the southern boundary, the wood gently slopes down towards the pretty stream that runs the length of the wood. The terrain flattens off at the base of the wood and pleasant clearings open up in places. There are footpaths throughout the wood, although slightly overgrown in places.
Sycamore is common throughout but beech, oak, chestnut, holly and some young ash are also present. Wild garlic covers the woodland floor leading up to spring.
The current owner has installed a small shepherds hut at the southeastern corner which enjoys wonderful views out across the surrounding hills. This would be included in the sale and with some minor restoration would make a fantastic addition.
There is excellent 4WD access from the main entrance and the owner would have right of way for vehicles.

Boundaries run along the main track to the west and follow the stream on the northern side. The east and south are bordered by fields.
Access The owner of Harleston Farm Wood will have full right of way along the track marked in blue on the map. The wood can be accessed from Harleston in the west and aslo from the village of Start to the east.

- If accessing the wood in a 4WD vehicle there is a parking space near Battle Ford and also at the top of the wood on the sharp bend. If you don't have a 4WD please DO NOT enter the tracks marked in blue by car. Instead please see the details below and walk from the road.
- Non 4WD vehicles - From the parking point on the far left of the map, walk down the hill, past Harleston Farm and follow the public way uphill. At the T junction turn right and join the track marked in blue on the map. After a few minutes you will come to a tight bend bearing left, the main entrance to the wood will be in front of you.
